Seamless, User-Friendly Operation
The Firefly includes features like variable magnification, automatic labeling of the left and right eye, and easy-to-use aperture/depth of focus adjustment to enable an easier, quicker video slit lamp exam for every patient without sacrificing quality or slowing you down!
The capture button on the base of the system was designed with comfort and efficiency in mind. You can simply tap with the heel of your hand to save an image or hold to record video during the exam without any interruption.
And, the Firefly has all the filters you need for a complete exam — ND/polarized, heat-absorbing, green/red-free, cobalt, and yellow (wratten filter).
High-Quality Imaging
When viewing structures of the eye, it is critical to see everything clearly. Unlike other slit lamps where the camera is an attachment added later, the Firefly has an HD camera built-in and was designed “from the ground up” with video capture in mind, resulting in a sleek, versatile tool that doesn’t require you to compromise on the quality of your images.
The Firefly provides sharp, high-definition images, and its Wide Dynamic Range allows for clear views of the eye’s anatomy by automatically using wavelengths similar to natural light.

The Firefly was built to serve your patient’s needs with practical applications in mind. Instead of interrupting the examination to educate your patient, the capture button on the Firefly allows you to easily save key parts of the exam to discuss with them after it’s complete.
You can choose which parts of the recordings are most important to talk through with your patient, and then sit down with them to give them a real look at what’s going on with their eyes while you discuss their treatment options and make clinical decisions. In other words, the Firefly can transform the patient relationship and allow you to make them more informed about their eye health.
On-Board Dry Eye Diagnostics
The Firefly imaging system has multiple capabilities — one of the most exciting is the is the built in meibography (both HD video and still image) with artificial intelligence to assess and quantify gland conditions.
This automatic, AI-assisted feature gives objective data that support your recommendations and is enormously powerful for educating the patient to move forward with treatment options.
Tear film evaluation with stain also provides a very compelling visual image for the patient and is easily accomplished with the built-in yellow Wratten filter.
